Research in my first article attempts to show there's not enough real world adoption to justify a long-term position in Ripple's XRP token (XRP-USD). But there is a great opportunity to buy during the headwinds from the SEC lawsuit and sell on news of a settlement or legal victory.

Today Ripple, the leading provider of enterprise blockchain and crypto solutions, previewed Ripple Liquidity Hub, a new solution for enterprise customers, which will be launched in 2022. Ripple Liquidity Hub will allow customers to seamlessly access crypto assets from a variety of global venues, including market makers, exchanges, OTC desks and in the future decentralized venues. The product will support turn-key integration and smart order routing to source digital assets at optimized prices giving customers the ability to easily buy, sell, and hold crypto assets.

Unlike bitcoin and other mined cryptocurrencies, where new coins enter the market in the form of block rewards, XRP enters circulation whenever Ripple decides to sell coins from its pre-mined stash on the secondary market.

Let's now take a look at some of XRP's recent price history. While past performance should never be taken as an indicator of future results, knowing what the coin has done in the past can help give us some much-needed context when it comes to either making or interpreting a ripple price prediction.

With that out of the way, let's take a look at some of the ripple price predictions that were being made as of 28 March 2023. Keep in mind that price forecasts very often end up being wrong, and that many long-term crypto price predictions are made using an algorithm, which means that they can change at a moment's notice.

First, CoinCodex had a somewhat pessimistic short-term ripple price prediction for 2023. The site said that it thought the price of XRP could drop to $0.4742 by 2 April and could continue its decline to $0.459 by 27 April. Despite that, the site's technical analysis remained bullish, with 24 indicators sending out positive signals compared to just five making bearish ones.

The ripple crypto price prediction from DigitalCoinPrice anticipated growth, with it potentially averaging $0.95 in 2023 and $1.21 in 2024. The site made a ripple price prediction for 2025 that suggested it could reach around $1.65, before potentially hitting $4.96 in 2030.

PricePrediction offered one of the most bullish forecasts in its ripple price prediction for 2030, estimating it could be worth $7.49 that year, before breaking past the $10 barrier to trade at a potential $10.88 in 2031.

Each month, Ripple sells more and more XRP to traders to raise money and to keep the price afloat. While this centralizes the cryptocurrency, it does greatly reduce the carbon-footprint of the currency. Chris Larsen, the co-founder of Ripple, said in a Medium post in April. 2021, that while the Bitcoin blockchain consumes the same amount of electricity as 12 million American homes, XRP uses that of 50.

The US Securities and Exchange Commission has, since December 2020, been battling Ripple for, it alleges, holding unregistered securities sales. In a lawsuit, the SEC claims that when Ripple distributes XRP to investors each month, it is actually selling securities. To do so, Ripple would have to have registered with the SEC, which it has not.

The price of XRP crashed following the lawsuit. It fell further when several major exchanges suspended trading of the coin in the US for fear that the SEC could call them out for selling securities. This depressed the price of the coin from about $0.58 to lows of $0.19.

XRP is a value transfer token. It can be sent and received by counterparties in a transaction at fast speeds and cheaply. Investors can also buy, sell or trade the asset for a profit (i.e., speculate on its value).

The XRP Ledger has possibly the world's oldest decentralized exchange (sometimes abbreviated "DEX"), operating continuously since the XRP Ledger's launch in 2012. The exchange allows users to buy and sell tokens for XRP or other tokens, with minimal fees charged to the network itself (not paid out to any party).

As with all changes to the XRP Ledger, you need to send a transaction to make a trade. A trade in the XRP Ledger is called an Offer. An Offer is effectively a limit order to buy or sell a specific amount of one currency (XRP or a token) for a specific amount of another. When the network executes an Offer, if there are any matching Offers for the same currency pair, they are consumed starting with the best exchange rate first.

A crypto exchange allows you to buy, sell and trade cryptocurrencies using your crypto assets, as well as fiat money like U.S. Dollars and other government-issued currencies. Crypto exchanges are more secure than other buying methods, but each platform will have its own rules, procedures, services and other features.

In 2020, the Securities and Exchange Commission filed a lawsuit against Ripple for allegedly selling $1.3 billion in unregistered securities, namely XRP. While Ripple never received any notices telling them to stop selling XRP, some large cryptocurrency exchanges delisted the coins from their exchanges and wallet services.

On Dec. 22, 2020, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission announced that it had filed a lawsuit against Ripple Labs Inc. and two of its executives, who are also large security holders. The case says they raised more than $1.3 billion by selling digital asset securities without registration.

Users on cryptocurrency exchanges can buy, sell, and trade XRP to produce short or long-term profits, depending on the strategy. While XRP is not available on the most popular, user-friendly exchanges, exceptions exist.
